We sell bulk beef based on hanging weight (the hanging weight is the weight taken after the head, hide, feet and organs have been removed).
The average hanging weight of a beef is:
-whole beef 700-800 lbs.
-1/2 beef 350-400 lbs.
-1/4 beef 175-200 lbs.
Prices include cutting and wrapping
We like to age our beef around 21 days
For your freezer you can expect around:
whole beef-520 lbs. approximately 12-13 boxes (around 16 cu ft freezer space)
1/2 beef - 260 lbs. approximately 7-8 boxes (around 8 cu ft freezer space)
1/4 beef- 130 lbs. approximately 3-4 boxes (around 5 cu ft freezer space)
Please note you can only customize cuts on whole and half animals. We can guide you through the process if required.
As with all our beef, we strive for quality. All our beef we sell is grass-fed, and we take pride in the animals.
We will not try to tell you we only raise AAA animals, because that is simply not true! Like most beef sold farmer direct, our meat is not graded. It is processed at an amazing provincially inspected facility, but is not carcass graded. Telling you it is AAA or prime feels like a misrepresentation to us, in fact only 3.5% of graded cattle in Canada make prime!
